Message from the Director

The primary aim of the College is to provide high quality educational programmes to students in order to prepare them for the future demands of the community in which they will live and work. The College's Mission Statement commits it to the pursuit of excellence in teaching, research, scholarship, consultancy and development work, as well as the promotion of a strong European Dimension. This emphasis on Europe means that students not only have the opportunity to study European languages, but can also avail of periods of study and/or placement through the many transnational agreements currently operated by the College throughout Europe.

The College has a reputation for academic excellence in its course and is well respected by employers and the community fro the relevance of its work in both teaching and research. it recognises however the need to continue its growth and development in order to meet the changing needs of its students and the community it serves. A major College building programme is currently underway and this will ensure that facilities will be adequate to meet the educational requirements of students preparing to enter the sophisticated workplace of the 21st century. In keeping with its strong regional role the College is now engaged in the provision of third-level programmes in situ at both Letterfrack, Co. Galway and Castlebar, Co. Mayo.

The main purpose of this Web Site is to inform prospective students about the variety and content of College courses. College staff, particularly our Registrar, Heads of Schools and Heads of Departments will be ready to assist with advice and information.
